Why Choose Metal Hose?
Corrugated metal hose flexes like hose but survives conditions that destroy elastomers: extreme temperature, high vacuum, aggressive chemicals, and zero permeability for gases. A braid over the corrugation adds pressure capacity and protects the hose.
Annular vs. Helical Corrugation
- Annular (rings): the standard for hose assemblies; flexes in any direction and welds easily to fittings.
- Helical (spiral): better for continuous conveying and tight spiral flexing.
Choosing the Alloy
- 321 and 316 stainless: the workhorses for steam, hot oil, and general corrosion resistance.
- Bronze: economical for water, fuel, and lower-temperature service.

Match Pressure, Temperature, and Motion
