Teflon® is a registered trademark of The Chemours Company for its PTFE resins. A Teflon lined hose and a PTFE lined hose are the same product — so if your print, your purchasing system or your plant standard calls it Teflon, this is the page for you. For the full technical breakdown of constructions, liner types and pressure ratings, see our main PTFE hose assemblies page.
Specialties Company builds Teflon hose assemblies to order for chemical, steam, hydraulic and high-temperature service, fabricated to your print at our Freeport, Texas facility.
Teflon Lined and Teflon Braided Hose
The inner core is extruded PTFE. Over that goes a stainless steel braid that contains pressure and protects the liner from abrasion. That Teflon braided hose construction is what gives the assembly its working pressure rating while keeping the chemically inert bore that made Teflon the standard in the first place.
We build both smooth bore and convoluted cores. Smooth bore drains cleanly and minimizes pressure drop; convoluted bends much tighter for routing around equipment or absorbing movement. Details on both are on the PTFE hose page.
Teflon Hose Fittings
We crimp Teflon hose fittings in-house: JIC 37°, NPT, SAE, BSPP, ANSI flanges, Tri-Clamp sanitary ends, camlock and dry-disconnect couplers. Materials include 316 stainless, carbon steel, brass, Monel and Hastelloy. Reusable and permanent crimp styles are both available depending on how the assembly will be serviced.
Because PTFE creeps under compression, the fitting style matters as much as the hose. Tell us whether the assembly will be field-serviced or run to replacement and we will spec the ferrule accordingly.
Where Teflon Hose Is Used
- Concentrated acid and caustic transfer
- Chlorinated and aromatic solvents
- Steam and hot oil lines
- Paint, ink and coatings circulation
- Refrigerant and compressed gas service
- Pharmaceutical, food and beverage transfer where extractables matter
- High-temperature hydraulic and lube lines
Covers, Sleeves and Protection
Where the assembly is exposed, we add silicone covers for personnel protection and heat retention, firesleeve for flame resistance, spring guards to prevent over-bending at the ferrule, and static-dissipative liners for low-conductivity media that can build a charge.
Built and Tested In-House
Every assembly is fabricated, hydrostatically tested and tagged before it ships, with test documentation available on request. Send a drawing, a competitor part number, or a photo of the failed assembly you are replacing and we will match the build.
