Specialties Company fabricates PTFE hose assemblies to order at our 30,000 sq ft facility in Freeport, Texas. Whether you need one smooth bore PTFE hose for a lab skid or a full run of stainless braided assemblies for a turnaround, we cut, fit, pressure test and tag every assembly before it leaves the building.
Looking for Teflon hose? Teflon® is a registered trademark of The Chemours Company for its PTFE resins — the hose on this page is the same product. See our Teflon hose assemblies and fittings page if you specify by brand name.
Smooth Bore vs. Convoluted PTFE Hose
Smooth bore PTFE hose has an unbroken inner wall, which keeps pressure drop low and makes the bore easy to drain and clean. It is the default choice for chemical transfer, paint and solvent lines, steam service and anywhere residue cannot be tolerated.
Convoluted PTFE hose trades some flow efficiency for a much tighter bend radius. When an assembly has to route around equipment, absorb vibration or flex in service, the convoluted construction handles it without kinking. Both are available as PTFE lined hose with a stainless steel braid.
Constructions We Build
- Stainless braided PTFE hose — 304 or 316 stainless braid for pressure containment and abrasion resistance
- PTFE braided hose with silicone or rubber covers for personnel protection and heat retention
- Static-dissipative (carbon black) PTFE liners for fuel, solvent and low-conductivity media
- Multi-braid constructions for higher working pressures
- Firesleeve, spring guards and armor casing where the assembly is exposed
End Fittings
We crimp and swage to whatever your print calls for: JIC 37°, NPT, SAE, BSPP, ANSI 150# and 300# flanges, Tri-Clamp and other sanitary connections, camlock, and dry-disconnect couplers. Fittings are available in 316 stainless, carbon steel, brass, and corrosion-resistant alloys including Monel and Hastelloy for aggressive media.
Why Engineers Specify PTFE
PTFE is chemically inert against nearly every industrial media, holds up across a wide temperature range, and will not leach into the product stream. That combination makes PTFE hose the standard for concentrated acids and caustics, chlorinated solvents, hot oils, steam, refrigerants, and pharmaceutical and food-grade transfer where taste, odor and extractables matter.
Fabrication and Testing
Assemblies are built in-house, hydrostatically tested, and supplied with test documentation on request. We tag each assembly so your maintenance group can trace it later. Send a drawing, a part number, or a photo of the assembly you are replacing, and we will match it.
